Ireland’s Foreign Student Enrolments is on Upward Swing, and Crossed Pre-Pandemic Level

Ireland has recorded great numbers in terms of foreign enrollments which brings it up to speed with pre pandemic numbers and even better it. Ireland recorded 35,140 international students in the academic year 2022/2023 which also accounts for 11% annual growth and at the same time beats the pre pandemic numbers.

International Students represent 14% of the total student population of Ireland. Remarkably, 45% of the international students are enrolled in post graduate programs. USA, India, and China are the biggest overseas student contingents in Ireland accounting for almost 40% of the total foreign student strength.

Since the Graduate Route was introduced in the EU in 2021 non- EU enrollments have been through the roof in the UK. Ireland is now trying to hold its own position and compete with UK by offering 2 to 3 years of post-study work permits to international students after completion of the study.

Apart from best quality of its Higher Education Institutions, Ireland also has an advantage when it comes to the cost of tuition fees. On average its undergraduate fee is around 14,000 Euros when compared to the UK and thus it is around 15% cheaper than UK.
