Levels of Study

Bachelor
First-cycle studies (3 to 4 years which consists of 6 to 7 semesters) leading to the professional title of a licencjat or inżynier. This is the Polish equivalent of the Bachelor degree. It is focused to prepare students for future employment or continue education to a Master degree. 
Master
Second-cycle studies – Master’s degree programme (1.5 to 2 years which consists of 3 to 5 semesters) following the first cycle studies and leading to the professional title of Master (magister, or an equivalent). It is focused on theoretical knowledge as well as the application and development of creative skills. After completion of Master, students can enter to Doctoral program (PhD). 
Long-Cycle Master 
Long-cycle studies – Master’s degree programme (4.5 to 6 years which consists of 9 to 12 semesters) leading to the professional title of Master (magister), or an equivalent degree depending on the course profile). There are 23 fields of study for which students need to complete long-cycle studies and being enrolled in a long-cycle integrated program means that students will study both Bachelor and Master degrees together.
PhD / Research 
A PhD or doktor in Poland normally lasts 3 to 4 years and students’ eligibility is based on the completion of a Master degree program. They are offered by Universities or Research Institutions and is offered free of charge for all students.

How much Percentage / Marks required to Study in Poland ?

Polish Universities and Colleges require an average of 60% and above in your previous
academic for admission in Bachelor & Master programs. Some Polish Institutions are flexible

Do I need IELTS to Study in Poland ?

International Students are required to take any English language test and provide a
certificate which shows they have an acceptable level of English. Most of the Malaysian
Institutions accept IELTS, TOEFL & PTE. They need 5.5 Band IELTS equivalent and high
depends on level of program. Most Polish Institutions accept international students without
such English tests if they have completed their schooling or bachelor in English medium and
submit a letter to prove it. Few Polish Institutions also confirm English requirement of
international students by offering their own English test or by conducting an interview.

At public universities, both Polish and EU/EEA & Switzerland students do not pay tuition fees
for degrees taught in the Polish language at Public Universities of Poland. All other study
programs have tuition fees for international students.

Does Studying in Poland need proficiency in Polish language ? Is English spoken and
in Poland ?

Although Polish is the official language of Poland, English is commonly spoken and
understood in the most areas and cities of Poland. You don’t need to know Polish language
as an international student as long as you would be enrolling for English medium study with
any Polish Institute. However, you must learn Polish language if you are planning to enroll
for study programs taught in Polish language.

Can I stay in Poland after study?

Poland offers Post Study Work visa or Temporary Residence Permit to International
Students, and it is granted for 1 to 3 years.

Is obtaining PR after completion of Study in Poland possible ?

During Post Study Work visa, if students receive full time job offer from any Polish employer,
they can extend their Work Visa further. If they stay in Poland for 5 years or more on
Employer Sponsored Work Visa, they can apply for PR in Poland.

During the semester, international students with valid student visas are permitted to work up
to 20 hours a week, and during academic breaks, As of January 2023, the minimum wage in
Poland is Euro 5.12 EUR per hour, so students can expect to earn around Euro 7000 – 9000
per year while studying in Poland.

Can I bring my family / spouse while I Study in Poland ?

While Studying in Poland, international students should not apply for visa for their spouse or
family members and immigration department is quite reluctant for the same. However, when
they are on Work Visa or Residence Permit, spouse or family members can apply for visa to
join them in Poland.

How much fund / bank balance is required to apply for Student Visa of Poland?

All International Students need to show fund to support first year of tuition fees as mentioned
in Admission Letter and living cost for first year.
If you have paid full tuition fees to Polish Institute for first year which is confirmed in Letter of
Acceptance or through Official Receipt, you don’t need to show any fund towards tuition
fees. If you have paid it partly, you have to show the fund for unpaid amount of tuition fees in
your Student Visa application.
As per current guidelines, you need to show Euro 12000 (Euro 1000 per month) towards
living expenses to support your Student Visa Application.
The total for funds to be shown (balance amount of tuition fees + living expenses) for
Student Visa Application of Poland must be 1 to 3 months old and held in the Saving
Account of student or parents.
